Before stainless steel can prove its value, it has to prove itself.
Whenever required, we perform tensile tests to ensure the consistent quality of our stainless steel products.
To do this, standardized test specimens are taken from the material and prepared for testing. The specimens are then mounted in a tensile testing machine and subjected to a steadily increasing tensile load until fracture.
During the test, the material’s behavior under increasing tensile stress is recorded. The collected data is used to generate a stress strain curve, from which key mechanical properties can be determined.
These include:
> Ultimate tensile strength (UTS)
> Yield strength / Proof strength
> Elongation at fracture
> Uniform elongation and deformation behavior
These values provide valuable insight into the material’s mechanical performance and verify that it meets customer specific requirements.
After the test, the results are internally reviewed and approved. Tensile testing is an important part of our quality assurance process, helping us maintain the high quality of our stainless steel products while ensuring reliable and consistent production processes.
