The world of stainless steel – our world!

Founded in 1983 by Volker Glave as NB Norder Bandstahl GmbH – almost 70 years after stainless steel was patented -, Norder Band AG has grown into one of the largest and most modern service centres for stainless steel processing in Europe.

Every year we dispatch more than 80,000t of stainless steel to our domestic and international customers from our site in the city of Norden, East Frisia, which comprises approx. 60,000m². With our modern machinery and perfectly synchronised manufacturing processes, we produce rust-free, corrosion- and acid-resistant strip steel.

Our products

Rust-free stainless steel strips

We produce an extensive range of dimensions and edge finishes in all qualities of stainless steel on numerous strip machines, using cold- and hot-rolled wide strips (stainless steel coils).

Oscillated coils

We provide the largest capability in coiled finishes in Europe. These are achieved using multiple separator coiling machines, on which up to 20 coils can be wound at once.

Rust-free precision stainless steel strips

Precision strip produced on special rollers. We manufacture using precision strips of selected stainless steel qualities, soft ferritic, austenitic and martensitic material, plus hard-strengthened, e. g. 1,430 1 / 1,431 0, according to your requirements, in various dimensions and edge finishes.

Rust-free stainless steel bars

Slit strips made of rust-free stainless steel are straightened and lengthened on our bar straightening units to produce bar or sheet steel to DIN or EN standard.

Vireo – Our CO₂-reduced stainless steel

Sustainability begins with Vireo, our brand for environmentally friendly and sustainable stainless steel. With Vireo, we reduce emissions by at least 25% compared to the European standard. Our materials are categorized to provide transparency regarding CO₂ emissions during the production of the master coil. The top-of-the-line Vireo-ultra achieves even less than 50% of the European average.

More than 12,000 t of primary materials (ferritic, martensitic, austenitic – cold- and hot-rolled) are available in the form of wide strips. Precision strips with very tight tolerances are also included in our scope of delivery.

As we work with a product management system (NBS) developed in-house, we are able to precisely reproduce any commercial and industrial process. Our readiness to specifically meet customers’ needs has made us one of the most flexible service centres in Europe. In total more than 300 staff work in the Glave Group in Norden for you; of these, 62 belong to the Norder Band AG team.
